I got this after deleting Dvorak from the keyboard layout applet from the top panel. I got this when I opened gwibber, but I think that is just a coincidence. This might not be the exact root cause but this is what happened to me : I am in Maverick Beta on amd64. I added a new language (Tamil - India) to my list of languages. I already have English(USA) and Hindi bolnagri for a long time. I clicked on the keyboard preferences applet and clicked on Show current layout. Suddenly the gnome screen began to represent the gnome screen from early 2000s with flat backgrounds and got a notification of this error. I had to restart the X to fix the issue. Just like others have mentioned, it happens after each login around 30 seconds in. I have Maverick and all latest updates installed. Now that I mention it, the crashes started to happen after some recent updates.
