Hi - I think this bug relates to the slightly older supercollider package.
We've got new supercollider packages at
https://launchpad.net/~supercollider/+archive/ppa
and they should avoid this bug (the new packages depend on build-essential,
which provides make).
Comments? Closeable?

This issue persists in Hardy. It only occurs when emacsen is installed.

It's still an issue insofar as it doesn't appear to have been fixed but
it's not a problem for me - the trivial workaround is to install make
package before installing supercollider.
I'm happy to attempt to create a patch to the package to fix the issue
if it will be accepted by the maintainer
