The gist is that it seems like the edge-flip-pointer behavior described
there and the edge-flip-on-mouse-button stuff we're talking about here

It is edge flip with mouse scroll on the edges which does not work.
I can make mouse flip work on the desktop (not the edge) with a key

I can reproduce this bug in a fresh Maverick install with compiz 0.8.6
from the ubuntu repos. Edge flipping works with the cube, but not with
desktop wall. Was working w/o problems in Lucid, though. Video adapter
is an ATI Radeon HD 4250.
