I don't know where that came from. This problem can be seen in the
Install partitioner. I don't know what Ubuntu's internal names for
their installer components are, and I can't get a list to try to change
this hint.

Unfortunately gparted doesn't have quite enough information to work out
what the new partition number is going to be. We may be able to do
something about this when we replace gparted with another installer-time
partitioner in Edgy+1.
