Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ntp

I have no idea how or when my ntp server got set but I had been noticing for
some time that my clock wasn't correct. I finally investigated the problem
tonight and found many lines of the following in the daemon.log
ntpd_initres[xxxx]: host name not found: clock.tricity.wsu.edu

/etc/ntp.conf obviously had the following:

server clock.tricity.wsu.edu

Which I replaced with:

server pool.ntp.org

My suggestion is that the ntp package should decide on a default
ntpserver hostname (pool.ntp.org or ntp.ubuntu.com) and then upgrade
people's ntp.conf files to reflect that default.

** Affects: ntp (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
