Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

I am running Xubuntu 10.10 on usb stick (with persistence enabled).

After installing brasero (Brasero 2.32.0), I tried to create 1:1 copy of
a dvd to an iso image on the disk.

Brasero crashed with the following in syslog (/var/log/messages)
Jan 3 20:51:18 ubuntu kernel: [ 7471.061462] brasero[10175]: segfault at 14 ip
0067ee29 sp bf843ad8 error 6 in libglib-2.0.so.0.2600.0[66a000+cd000]

I was unable to report this via apport because it complained on outdated
packages. My apologies for that (I was under the impression that the
apport would work because I was using the latest ubuntu maverick).

I tried 'brasero --debug &> ~/Documents/brasero-crash-debug.log', but all this
gave was:
'Please type "brasero --help" to see all available options'

I have reproduced this defect on three different machines (using the
same usb stick).

I see that there is a newer version of brasero (2.32.1-0ubuntu1
according to https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero). Is it
possible for me to try this newer version? If yes, where can I find
instructions to do that.

Also please let me know:
a. if I have reported this defect at a wrong place.
b. how I can provide more information w.r.t this defect.
