Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
I have some external drives that are mounted by NFS over a LAN. If I view the drive/folder in Nautilus, and select any number of files (1 or more), and then delete that file by any method (press delete key, use a drop down menu, right click and select delete...), Nautilus will display a progress bar, and then freeze. The only way to stop it is to force it to quit. However, after that, unless I reboot, I can not open any new Nautilus windows. I looked for possible fixes or solutions on the web, and found the suggestion that pressing shift+delete will bypass the trash and avoid this problem. However, this fix does not work for me. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release: 10.10 $ apt-cache policy nautilus nautilus: Installed: 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu1.3 Candidate: 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu1.3 Version table: *** 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu1.3 0 500 http://ubuntu-ashisuto.ubuntulinux.jp/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://ubuntu-ashisuto.ubuntulinux.jp/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/722494 Title: Nautlus hangs when deleting over LAN -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
