the issue is a known one and is fixed in unity trunk. i have build the
fix in my ppa if you want.

Launcher auto hide animation has a life of it's own

Have disabled the autohide in ccsm now, so the panel is stable now. But
the app launcher did not work, the symbol upper left opens a grey box
with 8 unclickable icons. With nouveau sometimes the screen
