The Debian link is also interesting in the regard that it taught me the
-P option of xargs which seems to do exactly what GNU parallel also
does. I didn't know this and I guess xargs is a more proven and well-
established piece of software.

(http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/parallel.git/tree/src/parallel) most
certainly look like PERL to me...
