what version of libwnck do you use (dpkg -l libwnck18), according to the
bug you pointed the crash doesn't happen with the Ubuntu package of
libwnck. Please don't open bugs on Ubuntu if you use packages different
from the Ubuntu ones, we can't be responsive for random patches used by
other people
Yes, you're totally right... I realized a few minutes ago that it was caused by
a rogue version of libwcnk (coming from the beryl repository:
http://www.compiz.info/patches/libwnck/)...
(I'm trying to debug it actually because it's still useful for the beryl
community...)

Attached are the logs obtained while running the beryl decorator
(emerald) trough valgrind. The program always crashes when I right-click
on a gnome-terminal title bar.
I also have a backtrace with gdb:
