I am not really sure if extending your feature request really makes
sense in my bugs case. The closed bugs seem to refer to some dual-boot
problem - however, my bug is not dual-boot related (I don't even habe
another OS on that machine)...

I am affraid, there is nothing umounted at all during hibernate. There are
allready two bug reports about this regarding shared partitions on (non
removable) harddisks and dual boot which where rejected:

I'm not sure if that's the same one:
I have an USB drive that is always mounted on /media/200gig. This mount point
is determined by a user policy stored in /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/95userpolicy
(There, I set the volume.policy.desired_mount_point based on
storage_device:storage.serial).
