Some random dude who's registered to Launchpad yesterday has closed this
bug without a comment and now it cannot be reopened...
Has it been fixed anyway?

colord crashed with SIGSEGV is the message I had by apport.
It occured just after the boot.
This morning again, lightdm wasn't launched automatically. I had to log
in and to launch it with the command sudo lightdm.

I also encountered this bug with the live CD. Doesn't seem to affect
Ubuntu 11.10 once it is installed. FWIW I have a Deskjet printer (842C)
connected.

An update: the problem in my case seems to have been the result of dust
on the CD. Cleaning off the CD and rebooting made everything work
fine... Go figure.

Don't know if this was the fundamental cause - but my experience was
following a reboot after the latest update the display was scrambled and
the computer unusable

I have just encountered this problem on running the Ubuntu 11.10 live CD,
whilst my printer was connected.
Now this was on running the live CD with all defaults, which selected the US
keyboard (I have a UK keyboard). However
if I run the CD and select, during the boot, the UK keyboard then
