@Balint Amm ok thanks for the reply. I was confused, thought was URL

@Alberto Sure, groupadd -r wireshark
Regarding 1282805 I saw it but the URL does not come from the package, it is
set somewhere inside Launchpad.

@Alberto: please use 'groupadd -s wireshark' instead. It must be a
system group.

package wireshark-common 1.4.6-1 failed to
@Balint I think you meant groupadd -r wireshark. Ok so the error
does not occur.
Then this bug and others #530443 #1025337 . Is due they follow
instructions, forums or any other source that add wireshark group, not
as a system group.
@Balint I see that you are the maintainer of the package
I reproduced in ubuntu 12.04:
$sudo apt-get install wireshark
$ sudo su
# groupadd wireshark
# exit
sudo apt-get purge wireshark-common
fixed with
sudo delgroup wireshark

This bug was reported against Natty (version 11.04) which is no longer

It looks like somehow you managed to get the wireshark

Whoops, looks like I need to run a better duplicates check next time.
This was reported already at bug #530443 which was subsequently closed
as fixed. Since it's clearly not, I'll mark this bug as a
