is the information that you share you current sharing state (do you
share that computer or not?).

Bit me too recently, but in my case I had manually removed ~/.cache
entirely -- it's just a cache, we can do that, right? :D

I thought it may have something to do with interference between synaptic
and software-center. Does anyone else have synaptic installed? Or could
it be that I have the Chinese language pack installed?
