Public bug reported:

after updating to ubuntu 11.10 I finaly get unity (I diabled it in 11.04).
When I maximize certain applications, gedit is one of them,  they don't show 
any data, 
only the titlebar. I can type text in gedit and see how titelbar indicates 
changes with *,
but I don't se any text, or menu. After restoring size, I can see typed text 
and menu,
maximizing again leads to white screen again.
