Bas Roufs, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release

It is a LibreOffice problem which affects the whole desktop session: as a
result of the crash in Writer, the system stops and restarts.
This sounds as if LO is crashing xorg; similar to:

Perhaps it might be worth getting a backtrace with symbols:

Hello Everybody
The problem is getting worse and really, really annoying. Often, I do not
manage to completely recover the document. The problem occurs often when I
try to save the latest changes in the document via control-s.
Next week, I will provide you with some screenshots as well as with
