Public bug reported: On Ubuntu 11.10, 64-bit, running an HTML5 youtube video in google chrome browser, occasionally causes the gnome-shell to refresh all windows (i.e. instantly restarts) and worst is that sometimes I lose the shell completely (i.e. windows lose decorations and the system bar, buttons are unclickable, can't switch between windows (Alt+Tab), can't access command (Alt-F2) to restart Gnome-shell, and can't get to terminal (Alt+Ctrl+F1-6)). The only solution would be a whole system restart.
