Ubuntu 10.04 LTS is no longer supported, do you still have this problem on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS or higher? the problem is happening with the 5510 printer. the document on the hplip site says the latest hplip file supports the 5510d printer. i have the plain 5510 printer (without the d). the site says the 5510 uses 12.10, but i have 12.11 (the initial release) installed. however, when i try to download the latest driver and selected the make of printer i have, the site automatically chooses 12.10 but at download time, it says the 5510 is not supported with the 12.10 driver. the 12.11 driver was working perfectly with the 5510 printer until cups was updated.
