Once I found a machine with an amd64 OS hardware virtualization, Boxes
works fine. I'm going to try to get Boxes into the Ubuntu repositories

Hi,
thanks, this looks like it'll be neat. The reason the '-spice' option
isn't recognized is because /usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 comes from the
qemu-kvm package and does not have spice support. You need to use
/usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64-spice, which comes from the qemu-linaro
package. In
Note I'm going to mark this bug invalid is it's not a bug in the qemu-
linaro package, but if you have any more questions on how to proceed
please do add a comment and I'll be happy to try to help.

I need some help figuring out what still needs patching. I tried
searching through git clones of gnome-boxes' dependencies but couldn't
find anything calling kvm. Thanks!
~/devel/spice-gtk/upstream$ rgrep qemu .
./NEWS:- support for audio volume (needs qemu support)
~/devel/spice-gtk/upstream$
I'm told that Boxes requires a 64-bit OS and hardware virtualization so
that's one reason my attempts would fail.
