Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amsynth

If i start amSynth while jackd is running, I get:

amSynth 1.2.0
Copyright 2001-2006 Nick Dowell and others.
amSynth comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY
This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it
under certain conditions; see the file COPYING for details
cannot load JACK library

It tries to open a library "libjack.so" in a lot of different directories, but
all jack libraries
have names like libjack-0.100.0.so.0. Installing libjack-dev generates the
required
symlink, so it ends with:

open("/usr/lib/libjack.so", O_RDONLY) = 5
loaded & initialised libjack.so :)

Something seems to be compiled the wrong way.

** Affects: amsynth (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
