I did a 'sudo touch /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf' - this fixed
the error and thus did the upgrade ok

At the time , I was upgrading distro itself
Process stopped with warning , same error as mentioned above
No diversion 'diversion of /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf to
/etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf.diverted by mythbuntu-default-settings',
none removed.
rm: cannot remove `/etc/lig
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
