An explanation: md detection and assembly is done by udev. Each time a
linux_raid partition is detected, udev calls mdadm to do an incremental
assembly.
But nothing is done to be sure incremental assembly is over before
trying to mount the root partition.
This modification makes the
I was able to test this patch using the following method: I added a
printed line before and after the wait_for_udev command. I then
rebooted a number of times and verified that the first line appeared
from time to time before all MD device were assembled and that the last
line always appeared
This patch to /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-premount/mdadm
solves the issue for me.
