i had to run apport in unity 2d as the regular unity wouldn't let me log in
this time (screen froze but i had mouse movement) hope that doesn't mess things
up.

black bars jump over the screen when a button is pressed or menus are opened.
2d unity works fine...just the 3d version has these problems.
