This module has been added in the 3.4 development cycle, so in the
mainline kernel.
That said, it would be super-nice if you guys backported it to the
precise kernel, the udlfb just isn't as resilient, however it requires a
few patches to the fbdev layer.

Yeah, I should have made it clearer I experienced this problem in a
downloaded mainline kernel from the link above. Don't know if it has a
tag, like xorg-edgers has
