The bug happens with ext3 partitions too, so it's not Fat32 specific. It
always happens when playing DVD from the hard drive with VLC.

At this point, it only happens with DVD, from a fat32 partition and from
original DVDs for me.
I close VLC by clicking on the X in the right corner and it works, but I
still hear the sound of the video file.. When I print a process list,
wxvlc is still in memory and the only way to stop the audio
I have the same problem with Xubuntu Edgy.
The bug appeared the first time when I installed the pluggins of vlc with
synaptic.
The bug continues even after deinstallation of pluggins
