News: The described bug is hard related to the radeon m10 9600 graphics. On the thinkpad x41 with nearly same hardware but intel i915 graphics none of upper problems appears. Videos playing on, dash jumps in when clicked and nothing stutter. Try this: Open firefox, go to youtube and start a video. Now open the unity panel and click to dash. Further checkups: The fglrx did not support the m10 radeon mobility anymore, so this is no solution. Tested xorg-edgers, but with no positive results to the speed problems. Every movement occurs in visible refresh waves. Dash took 3 seconds to open.
