[Bug 99111] Re: White text unreadable on popup

2010-08-25 Thread Nigel Babu
Thanks for the patch! We're sorry we do not have the time to look at all
the bug reports and all the patches. If you could forward this to the
author of the application (upstream) to hear his comments on it, it
would be great.

lol, this is from a while ago! glad my patch helped someone :-)

i'm not a coder btw: is there something I have to do to get this patch
included in the default gmail-notify package? Do I contact the ubuntu
package maintainer, or the main package maintainer (found his email in
the README)? or is it not important-enough a bug?

[Bug 99111] Re: White text unreadable on popup

2008-02-04 Thread klamech
Yeah, it's quite annoying when this happens :-/

I've attached a patch that adds a new background image (inverted
colours) and adds an option to the config screen to 'use dark
background'

note that gmail-notify has to be restarted for this option to take
effect, but that's also the case with changing languages as far as the
pop-up is concerned.

if you don't want to patch: d/l attached patch, extract
'background2.jpg' and save it as /usr/share/apps/gmail-
notify/background.jpg

** Attachment added: Patch to add 'use dark background' option
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11751029/invertBackground.tar.gz

** Changed in: gmail-notify (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = Confirmed
