I can confirm this issue on 15.04. Viewport fullscreen mode doesn't work. Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic is affected. I've had this same problem. For now, I just use a work around. To work around: 1) Create a different type of connection besides VNC, I used SSH. 2) Connect to the SSH session, and go fullscreen. You'll notice it works correctly. 3) Start the VNC connection. 4) From fullscreen in the SSH session, move your mouse to the top of your screen and use the Switch Tab Pages button to toggle your VNC connection. I'm trying to go full screen on my external monitor, and I'm experiencing this same bug in a fully update Ubuntu 13.10. Actually, it worked rather decently shortly after I submitted this post. I'll report back if i have further issues. The only thing that is a little annoying, is that if you focus on Monitor 1, while full screen with Remmina on Monitor 2, the Unity panels overlay the previously full screen until you click focus back to Monitor 2. This makes sense in one way, but is annoying in another.
