I am experiencing the same problems with a new hardy installation
(8.04.1).
When I plug in a usb-stick, I get this message. Further, if I start the
user/group management interface, I cannot unlock the application to

I have a fresh installation of Ubuntu 8.04 hardy (NO KDE at all, just Ubuntu
installation). The system was working fine...
but today when i tried to install a package with dpkg -i libgpmg1.deb got

Hi All, it does happened to me too. PLay any video / audio file it will
just go "dark screen of death". Press any key combination suggested also
not working. The only thing is to turn it off by pressing power button.

I checked further and it seems that if you unmerge the cells in row 1 and 5 ,
the problem goes away.
What does row 1 and 5 has to do with cells in row 6? I can't say.
I do remember that OO has many problems with cell merging in both Calc and
Writer.
I guess they did not fix all of them in 2.4.

I'm now starting to come across this too having moved to KDE 4.1
recently. I get the same error just doing:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xhost
Maximum number of clients reachedxhost: unable to open display ":0"
That error is being returned by the X server when the client tries to
send it the xauth info
Looking at my X server it has 256 open file descriptors at present,
could that be related ?
