I am using HP Pavilion DV5 1000. It has a kind of sensor on the panel, to
control the volume. Does exactly the same, as you've all said - freezes the

1. Cups did work upon installation as well as sharing and sharing via Samba.
Next day is dead.
In the troubleshoot wizard first suggestion is: Enable Cups via
System->Administration->Services
2. No such a link on menu.
Manually from a terminal: sudo services-adm
Forgot to add, on
System->Preferences->Main Menu->Administration
there is no option for Services.

It triggers lid_battery set to suspend (The lid has been closed, and the
ac adapter removed (and gconf is okay).)

This appears to me to work perfectly with the most recent usb-
modeswitch. Has this been tried with a recent version? BTW, the usb-
modeswitch requires about 15 seconds to quiesce for me - udev triggers
an extra action on the basis of the vendor+product, and that takes extra
time to complete.

very often when I press "x" button to close chat window, after ICQ
conversation, it freezes and in a few seconds all application switches off

Chat window should be closed after pressing "X" and whole applicat

Any news about needed changes in indicator-applet? As Sebastien said,
the gtk+ patch is not enough to fix this issue.

New information:
This bug only seems to effect ext2 and ext4 formatted SD cards (vfat and ext3
are seemingly unaffected).
This bug only occurs when _both_ the SD card and HDDs are mounted.

@John Gilmore: I'm not entirely convinced this bug is a duplicate of bug
#550850. The latter seems to be specific to Compiz, as the title itself
entails, and users reportedly refer to Compiz, including you, while the
present bug report also includes Kubuntu, which relies on Kwin as a
window manager
