I used the latest RHEL6 Beta with libvirt-0.8.1-13.el6.x86_64 and
the latest CentOS 5.5 with libvirt-0.6.3-33.el5_5.1.
I tried Ubuntu 8.04 and 10.04 and both show about 50% of the performance that
RHEL and CentOS do.

The WLAN is not defined in /etc/network/interfaces these days.
It was defined via network-manager and available for all users. I
believe HAL manages it. The WLAN connects before I login (or lack of NFS
homedir would stop me logging in).

the fast response by the developers it stands clear that this is not the

I had the same problem upgrading slapd on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
Using a workaround (commenting out SLAPD_CONF in /etc/default/slapd and
running `aptitude -f install`) I was able to make dpkg happy.
Generally it's IMHO a bad idea to do too much magic in the postinst
script of the slapd package - at

I'm not an expert in upstart but solved the problem by creating an
upstart task that checks whether all automatically started bridge
interfaces are up and made libvirt-bin depend on it.

This upgrade was performed automatically via update manager. I had
previously installed eucalyptus via apt-get on the command line. I'm not
sure how I ended up with eucalyptus-nc being installed without
eucalyptus-common being present.

I am not sure if i have understood the issue here correctly. Is it
specific to --register-nodes or does it also effect
--register-{cluster,walrus,sc}? If cluster, walrus, sc were also
causing problems, could you see if the current r1220 resolves the
problem for them (it does not address nodes).

I had a similar issue. Used Update Manager to upgrade a BioLinux6
installation (Ubuntu 10.04 based). Also hung on Installing new version
of config file /etc/init/mysql.conf ...
/var/log/daemon.log revealed mysql respawning every 30 seconds as above.
This had been going on for over an hour

Right now I am running an install for (CLC+Walrus), (CC+SC), (NC)*. So
far, the (CLC+Walrus) installed OK, and kept running. When I finish this
I will try installing all on each.

OK. I installed eucalyptus-cloud on the (CC+SC) machine, and restarted
the SC and CC. They *are* up, and the CLC recognised them. I will now
install the NCs, and see what happens.
So, yes, it seems something in packaging (requiring the cloud .jar?).

I've also confirmed that the version of openldap in lucid-proposed,
2.4.21-0ubuntu5.3, does not introduce any regressions in the openldap
tests in lp:qa-regression-testing.

You can disregard the Unknown parameter: IFACE, this is a known issue,
and brings no problems. You should be good to go now. Please check, and

This also Effects 1.6.2 CentOS release. When ADDRPERNET is set to 256 it
causes same behavior with this error:
