ok, sorry, my bad, didn't know is was closed source. But as far as I
knew the problem is in a python library. But ok, my bad. Could it be
that those developers are not on Launchpad? Maybe the problem is that
the design they used, can't use a webproxy, because it uses some other
TCP protocol then
Pidgin did not manage Skype contacts by default, there was a plugin
which could do that, but as far as I know, it needed a running skype
instance to work. Now there is a new API available for development
available for Skype partners called SkypeKit, which should be able to
work without skype
I've checked, and it appears that SkypeKit is not available for Linux,
but only for Windows and Mac. :(

sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.old
elsewhere run a live cd and rename the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf to xorg.conf.old

I haven't tested the patches myself, but hopefully they will be applied
soon. If not, I'll include the patches as distro patches.

Try what it feels like via today's Pidgin, is what i suggest!
The integration feels good, even though it is a little flawed..
With bubbles from Notify OSD and indicators in the Messaging Menu, Skype
feels so much more like home!
Until Telepathy speaks Skype, i can live with having a client

Pedro, I wouldn't say its incomplete. I suffer from this bug too. I'll
try to find out if this bug is still present in Maverick by the end of
this week - if time allows. But since Lucid is an LTS I think this bug
should be investigated anyway shouldn't it?
