Two comments. As of very recently I have started getting an error
message on boot or waking up from suspend that says "System program

I have tried to run apport (and apport-collect on a specific bug) - both
stall when running the collector. It's now been running for approx. 30
minutes - still not done (don't think it will ever be).
I've tried running it as my user - and using sudo - same result.

Plymouth don't start at all, on first I can see the tty showing the usual
syslog scrilling, then the characters font change and I can see the scroll of a
sort of strange plymouth log till Unity-greeter.

Same problem, freezing completely no input response at all. It
definately looks like there's two bugs here:
One where just the display freezes CTRL/ALT/F1 allows access to a terminal.
One where system locks completely requiring hard reboot.
I'm guessing the hard freeze issues relate to a bug here
Till, what is the next step? You still have this ticket set to
"incomplete" and eventually it will expire.
