I found that running 'wineserver -p' in a terminal then trying the wine

An interesting result though. With Three in slot 2 that service works

Okay, I narrowed it down to this:
Running on bare recovery console without Xorg : no problem
Running on bare normal (??framebuffered??) console without Xorg: blipstorm
The difference seems to me a loaded kernel driver...am I correct ??
If so, I could try out some new drivermodules or patches if
[[Ubuntu does not provide an update path for (these) Lenovo BIOS. Maybe
it would be nice to have a solution for this as well, to avoid users
being bound to buggy and outdated BIOS. To add, the given instructions
to the wiki seem very abandonned and do not (not all) apply to nowadays
ROMs of 10MB.

I am unable to remove the package printer-driver-cups-pdf (I assume
this package is related as it is the only 'pdf' cups package I see

please take a look at the date the bug was reported:
2014-09-25, status is auto-confirmed and prio is high.
Is there chance that this gets fixed before one year is over?
I would also argue the estimated number of unreported cases is much higher!

and then follow instructions at

Thanks for the assistance... What kernel-version and model of the wifi-
card are you using? Does it behave the same on both 2.4 and 5 Ghz?
For suspend/resume the pm-script seems to make it more stable atleast...
