Public bug reported:
It has to do with my variable $hostname that is not a FQDN but I don't have a
FQDN because I don't have a mail server on my machine. Is there a way to get
around this or do I have to desinstall amavis?
Yes this is a bug because it happens all the time when there's updates.

sorry, but I did this merge weeks ago, so please do an upload called
4.5.1-2ubuntu2 if you want, rebased on top of the current artful version

Thanks for reporting.
I took the liberty of attached a bug watch for the corresponding Debian
report.
It looks like bug 1558602 covers the same issue, but it talks about two
binaries (or rather binary wrappers). Will the suggested patch address
both?
** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker
Perhaps important: I'm using RCS in emacs, so perhaps emacs (GNU Emacs
24.5.1) is acting weird and not RCS :). Anyway, RCS under emacs in
Ubuntu 16.04 has a problem with editing log entries.
