I do not understand that why the code is used in ubuntu-release-upgrader
only. Doesn't update-manager need to check free space before installing
new kernels? At least some version of updater-manager may display a

I removed spotweb and it upgraded...
After upgrade network did not work because it was changed from eth0 to ens32,
changed it in etc/network/interfaces and then the network worked again (could
this be scripted in the upgrade if you have only one network card). Other

One option is to install 16.04 or later and configure unattended-
upgrades as recommended in the document. I am afraid all the related
bugs will not be fixed in 14.04.
Fixing Bug #1460396 and Bug #291342 would also help users of Software
Updater even if unattended-upgrades is not used.
