What happens if you pass security=none to kernel command line options
(i.e. disable AppArmor security module), for I think it might help
isolating the problem because you are hitting oops at
security_vm_enough_memory_mm() and security_file_free().

I think my modeset=1 test earlier was invalid; I don't think that change
was ever applied. It *did* get applied just now with a routine dist-
upgrade, which included an update to console-setup, which forced update-
initramfs. And then the system was unbootable except via the recovery
system. syslog
I have removed the proposal for merging, as I want to check the profile
with KDE 5 on Kubuntu 17.04. I am removing also the patch tag as
suggested by the bot, because it is not a patch to anything available
already in the repository.

I added acpi_osi=Linux to the grub config file and did an update-grub
and it works. But I think it would be better if this was looked into as
it did work fine without the acpi addition on Ubuntu LTS.

I agree. There isn't much point in not using CSD for Epiphany since the
visual difference is really minor and Firefox will be getting CSD soon
too.

currently under Ubuntu 16.04.
Today I setup an second external TV using the VGA port and an in-line
VGA to HDMI converter box that's worked before. The necessary xrandr

In the video capture i install dashtodock then i go to gnome-tweak-tool,
i press the button to go into the settings and nothing happens.
Then I try to activate the button to activate the extension (although
