version 5.4.4-0ubuntu5. When updated to 6.0, the bug no longer happened.
I've asked Simon to close this bug on IRC as LibreOffice was working

I now tried the kernel parameters. 'button.lid_init_state' works around the bug
when set to 'open' or 'ignore'. The system boots without going to sleep. When I
set it to 'method', the system doesn't boot at all.

I'm having the same problem with mousepad. Yesterday, I've choosed
"menu/logout/halt" option instead of "menu/logout/shutdown". And
problems started to happen: I could not even reboot or shutdown
computer, because every time when I wanted to do this, there was a
window to unblock session

Should be good to know about a possible damaged 'profile'. Please test via an
other 'user' login (create one if needed).
If logging with that new user does not expose that problem, then that mean your
'profile' is borked.

openjdk-10 and -11 should only be released in the 18.04 LTS updates
pocket. The primary OpenJDK package in 18.04 LTS is openjdk-lts,
currently building the openjdk-9 binary packages. It will be udated
later to build the openjdk-10, and then the openjdk-11 binary packages.

Hi Ubuntu,
Just found out today that when using Ubuntu Xenial HWE kernel 4.13 in a
VM on top of Proxmox VE 5.1.x, the direct synchronous write performance
is 93% slower than on kernel 4.4. Kernel 4.13 direct sync 4KB write
could only achieve 303KB/s while kernel 4.4 could

When a directory of TGAs is opened in eom, either from caja or via "eom
", it displays the first image correctly. Advancing to the next
image then fails with "Unrecognized image file format", and returning to
the first image at that point also then fails.
