Seems like this is caused by nvidia drivers not liking s2idle or forcing
the use of 'deep' leads to reliable suspend/resume cycles. Properly
removing nvidia drivers leads to a working system.

obviously i rebuilt the package dropping things that cause problems for
my setup (we do not want user to have network-manager), nor do they get

When reading some of the other reports, they appear to involve
installation on/to an USB-drive, not from a USB to a harddrive.
Any way, being new to ubuntu I solved it by booting from a live usb and
download / install GRUB from scratch.

On the shell selection page upon login there are four listed shells:
Gnome,
Gnome on Xorg ,
Gnome on Xorg ,
Mate (Default) ,
I don't see, "Ubuntu" or "Ubuntu on Wayland"
I tested GNOME, and both the entries called "GNOME ON XORG" the other three but
never got to test DP or HDMI
Upstream report closed "RESOLVED FIXED" on 2013-03-18
Target release - Firefox 22
Confirmed working Ubuntu 18.04 and Firefox 63
