Hi again,
I was able to narrow the problem down. I noticed that indeed a new
kernel version has been installed today causing the problem. Output of
dpkg.log:
cat /var/log/dpkg.log | grep "^2022-01-.*\ installed\ .*linux-image-generic"
2022-01-05 09:35:21 status installed
This bug is awaiting verification that the linux-aws/5.13.0-1012.13
kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and
update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the
tag 'verification-needed-impish' to 'verification-done-impish'. If the
problem still exists,
I've tested manually on a staging lcy02 builder and it works fine there,
so worst case you should be able to retry until it happens to land on
lcy02.
I've reproduced the problem on a staging lgw01 builder. I need ddebs to
get a useful backtrace, so I've filed
It probably isn't useful, but the backtrace without extra debug symbols
looks like this:
buildd@dogfood-lgw01-amd64-001:/build/xen-jT2uET/xen-4.16.0/xen/arch/x86$ gdb
--args x86_64-linux-gnu-ld -mi386pep --subsystem=10
--image-base=0x82d04000 --stack=0,0 --heap=0,0
Hello Matthew and everyone else affected by this issue,
The Impish kernel had to be re-spun because of a security issue and the
kernel team decided to include this fix with the re-spin. Could someone
please verify if the kernel mentioned on the previous automated comment
fixes the bug?
Thank
did you find any alternate way to handle this? If not we should probably
review/merge the 247 naming approach, if @slyon approves
