The first issue was the partitioning left no room for the grub on /dev/sda as

The default kernel 3.19.0-26-generic in Lubuntu 64-bit AMD64 seems to
have trouble with the additional restricted drivers from AMD / ATI,
despite being listed as compatible. This doesn't happen to me in any
other Ubuntu distribution or fork, only Lubuntu.
What happens is
The only work around that I have found is to go back to your old kernel
that was installed.

I found out that "Display Mode" in Settings -> Devices -> Displays was set to
"Join Displays".
Setting it to "Single Display" solves for me the issue of windows appearing on
the 2nd monitor.

I stopped using Eclipse on Ubuntu for now, but I'm just facing the same problem
again, now with Emacs 25.2.1. It appeared when I maximised the window and then
tried to reduce it.
gnome-shell CPU load reached 95% and after a while decreased down to 70%, but

I'm not expert at all, but is seems strange to me that the the workload keeps
high even in the (rare) event I could kill Eclipse. Would the sw-rendering
toolkit keep alive in the case Eclipse is killed ? Would be a bug in Eclipse ?
