A graphical glitch (orange straight line) appears above the sound volume
confirmation bubble when the mouse pointer travels over it. See the
attached screencast.

That PPA is for Ubuntu 12.04 only. It will not update anything in 12.10.

Make sure you did a gksudo dropbox update. This update option is
provided only for the package nautilus-dropbox downloaded from the
Ubuntu Software Center. If you downloaded the package directly from
dropbox.com, it would update automatically, you don't have to do
anything.

Confirming that 'killall hud-service' makes it work. BTW, HUD shows

Title:
Auto-update is disabled in the ubuntu downstream package which is just a
wrapper (script to download the dropbox client from upstream). You'll
have to do gksudo dropbox update in a terminal or Alt+F2 to get the
latest release. I did it and it is working very well.

A workaround to solve this is to disable the Effects plugins in
CompizConfig Settings Manager.
After I disabled both 'Animations' and 'Fading Windows' to gain a
performance boost, I noticed that the graphical glitches above the sound
bubble disappeared. Don't disable 'Window Decoration' or you'll
