Been running a few days on latest 4.18.0-041800rc8 and so far no crashes, so a
tentative "fixed" might be appropriate now. Of course this message may be just
the curse needed to replicate the issue! (I'll update if so)
I'm still none the wiser as to what might have been fixed or what caused

Latest linux-headers have dependency on libssl1.1
https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/amd64/libssl1.1/download whichis not
available in 16.04 but no problem installing that manually. Now will wait and
see if issue returns, may take a few days.

Impossible to tie it down to upgrade or specific action or app at this
point, been happening unpredictably over last month or so, it could be
related to recent requirement to use Skype/VCC for workI'll try
installing the latest upstream mainline and see how it goes and let you
know. May take
Still no hangs/freezes/crashes in the last week so looks like issue
either fixed in upstream kernel or was fixed in Skype/VCC!

Upgraded to 18.04 (fresh install) hoping the same issue as reported here
