My new Ubuntu 18.04 system also having this issue. I am using Wireless
Dual-Band Bluetooth(Intel 8260) PCI-E card from Asus(PCE-AC55BT). No
issues with the wifi, but the bluetooth conrol tools fail to discover
devices:
$ cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep -m1 'model name'
model name : AMD Ryzen 7 1700
My problem was related to a faulty Bluetooth device. Sorry about the
noise, please disregard. Thanks!
