When copying from OOo (Writer in this case, not tested anything else) to
Evolution, OOo crashes.
I tried to start it from a terminal, but there is no more output to be seen.
I'm willing to provide more information if you could tell me how to get it.
It is fully reproducible
In my case, the server is a powerful (recent 2 x dual-core Opteron with
4GB RAM) physical machine for about 50 users (mostly on Ubuntu using
Evolution or some on Windows using Thunderbird) on the IMAP server.
Really unlikely to be overloaded, and that's also what graphs (Munin)
show.

Yes, it is fully reproducible, even if random. You cannot move 20 mails
without losing any, and sometimes even moving one at a time leads to
loss.
Maybe the problem is related to Courier IMAP, but other clients on the
same server, and even from the same client do not show this behaviour.

Look at your diversions (dpkg-divert), that's where the problem lies.

better, no worst.
I started Evolution with CAMEL_DEBUG=1, and when it occurs, I get the following

I confirm the same problem with GNOME (Ubuntu) or XFCE (Xubuntu) and a Voodoo
Banshee AGP (a Maxi Gamer Phoenix if it matters).

While I guess this could be related with the schemas used on the LDAP server, I

Actually, I know of the StartSSL CA which is not recognized on Ubuntu 12.04
while it is on the yet-to-be-released 12.10. And AFAIK, Firefox versions are
identical between both (15.0.1), while ca-certificates is significantly newer
