[Bug 883201] [NEW] Several second hang on ssh login

2011-10-28 Thread Joel
Public bug reported: This problem is new since 11.04. It only occurs when connecting to a server that I have not recently connected to. The problem still remains after commenting out all lines in /etc/ssh_config. To reproduce: Check that DNS is operating correctly: joel@joel-vm:~$ host testp1

[Bug 883201] Re: Several second hang on ssh login

2011-11-11 Thread Joel
I've tracked the problem down to something DNS related. But I'm still not sure exactly what the issue is. Other people seem to be having the problem as well, for a couple of Ubuntu releases at least. The instructions for fixing the problem on the internet say to set UseDNS = no in client sshd

[Bug 219263] Re: Ubuntu Server 8.04 Beta freezes during installation at 75%

I'm using a Dell Inspiron 7500 with 64 MB of RAM. I'm trying to install Ubuntu Server 9.04 (final). It's stuck at 74% instead of the 75 in the older versions. The HDD light is solid and the CD light isn't doing anything. I will leave it overnight like other people have done. I hope it works.
