I have this problem since 2 weeks. The Gnome startup is very slow, its
seems not responding several seconds. I use ubuntu gnome on my laptop
since 2 years, and I didn't have a problem like this. It's not due to
profile switcher, deskbar or compiz because I already used it before.
This bug is fixed, try to download the new package or wait the update.

I can't blacklist network drivers modules in gutsy
André Barmasse I blacklisted the sonypi module, but that doesn't seem
to do the trick. Are the modules sonypi and sony-laptop (both are loaded
during startup) disturbing each other or lies the problem deeper in the
dbus and hal area? I have no idea! Well, let's wait and see what the
next update

3. launch

After modify the compiz workspace settings, when I click on workspace
applet gnome-panel are killed.

Stwitch to tty 1 and type killall gnome-panel.

I have the same bug. Since the upgrade to Maverick my X freezes
randomly. The mouse cursor is still moveable, but the rest of the screen
shows otherwise no reaction. I'm using nouveau.
