Are you sure that SHMConfig setting is being applied? In recent Xservers
using just section InputDevice is not enough, you have to link it from
ServerLayout. Something like this (taken from gsynaptics README.Debian):

Yes, this is true on all current phpMyAdmin versions. Only recently we
by default disabled root without password.
But all these problems come from MySQL defaults, which I thing are
simply wrong. On the other side when compared to root with no password,
this one is less evil.

osc has dependency on python-rpm which pulls in these files, however
probably not versions which are currently in Karmic Koala. Once osc and
rpm will be in same state as currently in Debian, it will be fixed.
