I have been using ubuntu for years now. I have had an interesting experience
with Hardy and file sharing. My home network if fairly complicated - I have a
seanix pentium 4 1.5gb ram dual harddrive which dual boots xp / ubuntu. My new
desktop = dell amd dual core 2gb ram dual boot vista/ubuntu.
Same results here on 7.10

Hi,
the thing is, that I've already tried setting those timeouts. And there
was no result at all. The lookup time didn't change.
Wouldn't it be a lot more intelligent in libnss-ldap to do a *one-time*
check if the LDAP server is reachable, and if not there's just no
output. Just something simple
This was the fix for my problem, why this happened I have no idea. It
took quite a bit of searching to locate this...
Run /usr/share/debconf/fix_db.pl as root user
I hope this will help someone else!

I was able to work around this by downgrading the kernel on a Ubuntu 14
box to 3.12.20-031220-generic #201405160935 (and of course wasn't seeing
this with Ubuntu 12).

kernel to see if it's been fixed (and also tried
marking as confirmed, see bug 1332409 with the apport-collect
information.

With cupsys 1.2.8-0ubuntu8 i can print without problems
In Synaptic I added the Feisty main repository, reloaded, searched for
cupsys selected it then selected Package Force Version and
Support for this has gone backwards for some of us.
For me this started to work easily with restricted drivers in Feisty.
It still worked in Feisty upgraded to Gutsy but won't work in a fresh install
of Gutsy or the latest Hardy.

At my laptop i've no sound, not in ubuntu 7.10 and also not in ubuntu

When I run a dmesg command I see the following output:

To reproduce:
* Fire up any app that enables closing to notification bar (confirmed with
Banshee, Exaile, Liferea, Gajim)
* Open on workspace
* Move to another workspace
* Click app
Also confirmed the same behaviour in Rhythmbox.

I generally use Metacity (no effects) but I've confirmed the same
behaviour with 'Normal' effects.

I have been using ubuntu for years now. I have had an interesting experience
with Hardy and file sharing. My home network if fairly complicated - I have a
seanix pentium 4 1.5gb ram dual harddrive which dual boots xp / ubuntu. My new
desktop = dell amd dual core 2gb ram dual boot vista/ubuntu.
if i can supply an additional info. FYI i am not a very
experienced user but will try to do my best.

more work done on it for Gnome inter operation, is it a
KDE limitation? Either way it should be escalated to a high priority,
