I think this has been fixed in the newer xserver-xorg-video-ati driver
that is included in edgy. At least not happening on my mobility radeon
9000 anymore, but someone should check if the issue(s) is fixes also
with r100 class hardware (eg. radeon 7500).

fails on many (most?) X300-X800 PCI-E cards, while radeon works though
might not give bigger than 640x480 resolution without additional
MonitoryLayout tweaking - even that would be better than blue screen of

There are a lot of unfilled dependencies when trying to install that deb file
on a dapper. If I force the installation, starting update-manager results in:

Bug 135752 has actually been describing the same problem (ie. point 2 in

fixed nor reopened. I've just retested the problem with

The language support is downloaded from the Internet during of after the
installation, but not before it.
The case before was probably that German support used to partially fit
